In this episode, I talk with Author, Speaker, Air Force Veteran and WWII Historian Mark Vlahose.
Growing up in Virginia, Mark’s love of history was forged in the very places where it came alive. As a young teenager, he visited Colonial Williamsburg, captivated by the Colonial militia and the rhythmic snap of the Williamsburg fife and drum corps. At just 18, he purchased his first musket, igniting a lifelong passion for military history and reenacting. What began as a hobby evolved into a meaningful pursuit, marked by highlights like participating as a background extra in Ted Turner’s Gettysburg.
Mark’s book Leading the Way to Victory is more than a chronicle of airborne operations—it’s a study in leadership, trust, and decision-making under uncertainty. As modern investors, we can look to history for lessons in preparation, vision, and adaptability to build strategies that endure. Whether braving volatility in the stock market or exploring unfamiliar asset classes, success today depends on having the same mindset that defined the 60th TCG: a commitment to learning, adapting, and staying the course toward long-term goals.
